F3 Team Secures 50,000 Euro Grant for Innovative Research Collaboration
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Leiah Groom-Thomas and Dr. Jessica Bennett, in partnership with Dr. Olympia Colizoli from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands, at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour, have been awarded a grant in the amount of 50,000 Euros from the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
The grant will be linked to our Soccer and Literacy Program, including the Littles program, to conduct a research study on the use of color in combination with letters and words to determine if it supports the learning process. Our project is called "Vibrant Vowels" and will specifically look at color-coding vowel letters to match the various sounds they represent in the context of words (a,e,i,o,u,y and the schwa).
The project will begin in January 2025. We are beyond excited about this opportunity to work with Dr. Colizoli and look forward to the innovative insights this research will bring to our program and to the body of knowledge known as the science of reading.
